Accessibility
Our aim is that everyone can come into our spaces and take part in all our activities without restriction or barriers. We’re not there yet so do get in touch to find out more or to feed back to us from your experience by contacting the Parish Office. If you have children or young people with additional needs and would like to speak to someone, please get in touch.
The re-ordered parish church, Christ Church Downend, is accessible for wheelchairs in all areas except the chancel. There are handrails and steps to access this area. We have fully accessible loos with baby changing facilities. We use overhead screens for most services but can provide large print paper copies of services. We use a sound system which has a hearing loop.
Our Parish Hall on North Street is accessible for wheelchairs with a small ramp. A fully accessible toilet is in the youth hub section of the building.
The Church Centre, Quaker’s Road in Bromley Heath is accessible for wheelchairs via a ramp and handrail. We use books and service sheets. We have large copies of service sheets. A sound system amplifies the speaker.
All our buildings have car parks and tarmac pathways.
We try to cater for special diets at social events and we offer gluten free communion wafers and non-alcoholic wine.
